The Port of Dortmund gains its logistical competency from the cooperation of the Dortmunder Hafen AG with its associated companies Dortmunder Eisenbahn (with the transport and infrastructure divisions) and Container Terminal Dortmund as well as the enterprises based in the port area.

The overall cargo handling services for own movement of goods as well as corresponding services for enterprises not based in the port are performed by the port operators.
